AEMO auctions settlement residues arising from price differences between NEM regions. These reports narrativise the clearing prices, sell-through rates and congestion signals across all five interconnectors.
When electricity flows between NEM regions, price differences create settlement residues. AEMO auctions the right to receive a share of those residues via quarterly tranches (T01 through T12). Higher clearing prices indicate the market expects greater inter-regional price spreads, typically driven by transmission congestion or generation asymmetry between regions.
These reports are generated from AEMO SRA Results data ingested weekly by gridIQ. gridIQ does not participate in IRSR auctions.
