Weekly clearing-house prices for Large-scale Generation Certificates and Small-scale Technology Certificates, ingested every Saturday from the Clean Energy Regulator.
Latest week ending: 22 May 2026
The Renewable Energy Target (RET) is split into two schemes. The Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET) issues one Large-scale Generation Certificate (LGC) for each megawatt-hour generated by accredited renewable power stations. The Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) issues Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) for rooftop PV, solar water heating and small wind installations.
Liable entities (mostly electricity retailers) must surrender certificates to the Clean Energy Regulator each year. The CER runs a clearing-house that publishes weekly clearing prices and traded volumes. The prices shown above. Spot-market trades typically transact within a few dollars of the clearing price but with higher volumes and faster settlement.
