Coal, gas, solar, wind, hydro and battery generators across Australia, plotted by location. Coloured by fuel type, sized by registered capacity.
Map tiles © OpenStreetMap contributors. Generator coordinates from Open Electricity and gridIQ. Click a marker for station detail.
Every dot is one DUID, the Dispatchable Unit Identifier AEMO uses to settle generation in the National Electricity Market. WEM units use the equivalent facility identifier in the Western Australian market. Marker colour shows fuel type. Marker size is proportional to registered capacity, so larger circles are larger power stations.
Coordinates are sourced from the Open Electricity reference dataset and gridIQ. Capacity and fuel-type fields are populated from AEMO Generation Information workbook releases. Region tagging uses NEM (NSW1, VIC1, QLD1, SA1, TAS1) and WEM (WA1) identifiers as published by AEMO.
The map covers operating generators only. Future-pipeline projects (committed, anticipated, CIS-awarded, retiring) are tracked separately on the generation pipeline page but do not yet have per-project coordinates. A small number of operating units (around 2% of registered DUIDs) are missing geolocation and are not plotted.
